The project, located at a strategic point of convergence for the sustainable development of the city, proposes to widen the permeability in the NE-SW axis of the complex, establishing a synergy with the permeable spaces on the ground floor of the neighbour BIST building. To do this, a passage is created that connects the arrival of the tram, the new Ágora and the Parc de Carles I. The new axis has the potential to extend this permeability towards a possible future access to the Parc de la Ciutadella.
The project decants the heavier functional program to the sides of the built complex, concentrating the lighter and interactive program in the center of the volume through a system of terraces that connect both buildings and act as a bridge of knowledge that promote interdisciplinary communication. At this central point, the project takes advantage of being as permeable as possible through the overlap of open terraces connected visually and environmentally by a vertical garden.
